Grow Green
As part of its efforts to promote sustainable development in northern Lebanon, "Leading Hands" launched the "Grow Green" project, which aims to plant fruit trees in Tripoli. This project contributes to improving local vegetation cover and enhancing environmental quality through the role of trees in absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, thus directly supporting Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land). The fruit trees planted are highly adaptable to various soil types and climatic conditions, making them a sustainable solution to improve the environment and enhance air quality. 35 trees were planted. Additionally, the project included awareness sessions on environmental waste sorting practices in households, contributing to the creation of a sustainable environmental culture that begins with individuals and positively impacts the community as a whole. This project was led by four outstanding women. Indirect beneficiaries included individuals living in the targeted areas as well as the families of the participants, who benefited from the environmental improvements fostered by the project. The project was implemented in partnership with "Bssissat Amal" in Morocco, with financial support from IECD and the "J Med" program, and in close collaboration with the Municipality of Tripoli. "Grow Green" represents a step towards transforming Tripoli into a model for environmental management and sustainable development.
